Christmas.....yes I mentioned it..... is a great time to do some fundraising. It might seem like everyone is too caught up in buying presents and wondering how to make their funds stretch, but why can't you buy gifts and help to fundraise all in one go? After all I always buy charity Christmas cards - if I'm spending the money anyway I might as well help a good cause in the process.
I recently found out about a company called FunMats - they help you to produce bespoke gifts and raise funds for your child's school at the same time.
FunMats send you everything that you need so that your children can create their own design on a variety of products - from coasters to shopping bags, glass kitchen boards to message pads - to produce a bespoke, personal Christmas gift.
So where does the school fundraising come in? Well the school get the kids to do the drawings and then the parents get the chance to buy products with those drawings on. There's no minimum order or obligation to buy. Every sale makes a profit for the school and as the money is collected from parents for the products in advance there are never any unsold items left at the end.
You can find details of each product, along with the profit that will be made from each one on the FunMats website.
I think it's a lovely idea and would make a great gift for grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends.
